  • Explore for the second time the Forest of Angavokely.

Andasibe Antananarivo

  • On the way to Andasibe, located 150 km from Antananarivo (3h30minutes).
  • Visit the reserve Analamazaotra, a natural forest with the Indri, lemurs and other species.
  • Arrival and transfer to hotel Vakona Forest Lodge.
  • In the afternoon, visit the private reserve Vakona.

  • The day is dedicated to the discovery of the Mantadia National Park, a dense forest with amphibians, reptiles, orchids, native plants…
  • Discover thecascades and waterfalls and trails along the river with a beautiful view and a breathtaking panorama. The avifauna is also very interesting with the presence of blue Vanga and many other species.
  • Night Tour in the reserve Mitsinjo: a reserve managed by the Mitsinjo association that is particularly specialized in frog’s backup program of Mantella. Ideal for observing nocturnal species as Microcebus, the smallest of the lemurs.

The Palmarium reserve of Ankanin’ny Nofy is set on 50 hectares bordering Lake Ampitabe and Indian Ocean on Pangalanes.

  • Transfer to the village of Manambato to take the boat towards Akanin’ny nofy.
  • The reserve shelters ten species of lemurs playing in full freedom in the reserve, Indri, Sifaka, Coronatus, Varecia, variegate, Propithecus.
  • A rare terrestrial, arboreal and endemic fauna and a wonderful flora (orchids, carnivorous plants, ebony, mahogany, traveler’s tree).
  • The most beautiful palm trees specific to Madagascar, including the rarest varieties (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, but Voanioala and Lemurophoenix).

The Ecomuseum of Vohibola values the natural and cultural heritage of the Reserve Vohibola for ecotourism purposes so as to increase the attractiveness of the site and its local economic benefits for local communities.

  • Visit the reserve Vohibola Fanamby run by the NGO which work for the welfare of the population and conserve natural resources.

DAY 8

AKANIN’NY NOFY-TAMATAVE- ST MARY

 

  • Transfer by boat to the river port of Tamatave.
  • Then transfer to the airport to fly to St Mary: small island on the east coast of Madagascar whose main attraction is whale watching (seasonal).
  • You can rent a boat to approach the whales, but be careful, respect strict rules.
  • You will be touched by the people, of great kindness.

DAY 9 to DAY 10

St Mary is a destination for many tourists, an island paradise in the heart of the Indian Ocean. It has an equally interesting and fascinating history. A natural green oasis with its primitive forests, plant species, waterfalls and underwater.

  • Day excursion to the Nattes Island: an islet around St Mary, ideal for scuba diving.
  • This island is a former pirate hideout, which would explain the presence of a cemetery of pirates.
  • Beautiful beaches of white sand, turquoise lagoon suitable for diving, sandy paths traversing the small island.
  • Visit the fishing village to get to know the local population which fishing is the main activity.
  • Back on the island of St Mary.
